U15 World Cup Qualifier | Cuba and Panamá win in debut



The national teams of Panamá and Cuba made their U15 World Cup Qualifier debut with victories in Valencia, while Venezuela and Colombia are still looking for their first win.



Panamá has been dominant in their two games so far, first in their debut versus Colombia they scored 15 runs to win easily by a 15-2 score with pitcher Gustavo García solid on the mound.


The second game scheduled for Friday between Puerto Rico and Venezuela had to be suspended by rain in the second inning when Puerto Rico had a 4-1 lead, the game will be rescheduled later.


Cuba made their debut on Saturday and came from behind against a tough Colombian team to finally walk them off by scoring 8-7 with a single of Duliesky Ferrán that gave them their first win.


Panama dominated again on Saturday by beating the host nation by a 9-1 score, with four runs in the second and five in the fourth inning. While Jeremy Vargas was solid on the mound against Venezuela.


With these results Panama stays undefeated with 2-0 leading the pack, Cuba is next after their win in their debut with 1-0. Meanwhile, Venezuela falls in their debut (0-1) and Colombia is still looking for their first win (0-2).


On Sunday tournament continues with two games on schedule, Puerto Rico will try for their first win when they face Cuba, while the Dominican Republic debuts in the competition by facing the host nation, Venezuela.
