Reds' Vladimir Gutiérrez: Handed another loss. Gutiérrez (0-6) allowed four runs on four hits and two walks over four innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Cubs. Gutiérrez took the mound for the first time since May 11 and tossed three scoreless frames before running into trouble in the fourth. He gave up an RBI double to Ian Happ followed by Patrick Wisdom's two-run blast. Gutiérrez is now 0-6 with an ugly 8.70 ERA through seven starts this season. He was removed from the rotation earlier this month but never made an appearance out of the bullpen. The 26-year-old is currently lined up to face the Giants at home this weekend but it's unclear if he'll get another start.

Yulieski Gurriel and Yordan Álvarez: No hits on Monday against Cleveland.

Yuli Gurriel and Yordan Álvarez combined 0-for-7 on Monday in a 6-1 loss to the Guardians. Álvarez walked, struck out, and his BA descended to .250. Meanwhile, Gurriel, who had an offensive rebirth recently, is slashing just .223/.259/.388 with 3 HR and 13 RBI this year.

Yadiel Hernández was 1-for-4 Monday against the Dodgers.

In a 10-1 loss to the Dodgers, Yadiel Hernández went 1-for-4 with a strikeout facing lefty Tyler Anderson and RH closer Phil Bickford in the 9th. Yadiel seems very comfortable with the Nats in his third MLB season, slashing .319/.355/.466 with 3 HR and 20 RBI after 32 games.

José Iglesias went 1-for-3 in a 2-1 loss to the Pirates.

Iglesias continues his steady offensive season. The flashy Cuban shortstop went 1-for-3 with a walk on Monday against the Pirates, lifting his BA to .304 for the year. In his eleven-season and first with Colorado Iglesias' slash line after 33 games is .304/365/374.

An MRI on Aroldis Chapman's Achilles came back negative, although a trip to the injured list is still possible.

The Yankees are treating the ailment as if Chapman has tendinitis, although it doesn't sound like that's an official diagnosis at this point. A decision on whether or not Chapman will be placed on the IL could come later Monday. Clay Holmes is the guy that most likely will fill in at closer for the Yanks.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went hit-less on Monday.

Gurriel went 0-for-3 on Monday in a 7-3 loss to the Cardinals. The Cuban outfielder walked and left two-on base and his struggles in the month of May continue. Gurriel is now 8-for-58 (.138) this month, with no homers, and 2 RBI. He is slashing a disappointing .225/.273/.326 this year.
