Reds' Vladimir Gutiérrez: Set to start Monday

Gutiérrez is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Cubs, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Gutiérrez hasn't made an appearance since being shifted to the bullpen May 13, but he'll rejoin the rotation, at least for one start, for Monday's series opener versus Chicago. The 26-year-old has a 8.65 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and 19:19 K:BB across 26 innings (six starts) this season

Orioles' Cesar Prieto: Advances to Double-A. The Orioles promoted Prieto from High-A Aberdeen to Double-A Bowie on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. A two-week stint on the injured list earlier this season wasn't able to derail Prieto, who moves up to Bowie after slashing .340/.381/.619 across 105 plate appearances in 25 games with Aberdeen. The 23-year-old infielder showed impressive contact skills, as he struck out in only 15.2 percent of his plate appearances.

Orioles' Cionel Pérez: Snags win in extras. Pérez (2-0) earned the win Sunday versus the Rays. He allowed a hit and two walks while striking out three in two scoreless innings. Pérez worked the 10th and 11th innings after a rain delay, and he was able to keep the Rays at bay long enough for the Orioles to get the win. Through eight appearances in May, the southpaw has allowed just one run in 7.2 innings. He owns a 0.66 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB with three holds in 16 outings overall. His solid pitching, albeit somewhat lucky, has earned him a high-leverage relief role.

Raisel Iglesias struck out the side Sunday against the Athletics, securing his 10th save of the season.

Coming on to protect a three-run lead in the top of the ninth, Iglesias struck out the side on just 12 pitches (10 strikes). The veteran closer has a 4.02 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and 22/4 K/BB ratio across 15 2/3 innings this season.

Yoán Moncada went 1-for-10 with a double Sunday in his return to the White Sox' lineup.

Moncada started both games of Sunday's twin-bill against the Yankees, tallying one hit in 10 at-bats. The 26-year-old third baseman was scratched from the White Sox' lineup Saturday due to right leg soreness, but it doesn't sound like a serious concern moving forward.

Aroldis Chapman came on in a non-save situation in the ninth inning on Sunday and served up a go-ahead home run to A.J. Pollock.

Yankees skipper Aaron Boone turned to his closer with the score 1-1 entering the ninth inning. Chapman responded by serving up that dinger to the first batter that he faced. He also issued a one-out walk to Andrew Vaughn and an RBI double to Adam Engel before departing. Clay Holmes is lurking and ready to usurp the closer's role. Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after Sunday's loss to the White Sox that Chapman was receiving treatment for an Achilles injury. It's unclear if he'll require a trip to the injured list, though sitting down for a couple of weeks may actually be in his best interest in the long run.

Yandy Díaz (shoulder) was not in the Rays starting lineup Sunday against the Orioles.

Diaz got the day off after leaving Saturday's game against the Orioles with a left shoulder strain. The team has an off-day Monday, so a Tuesday return is possible if Díaz can avoid the injured list. Isaac Paredes will get the start at third base Sunday.

Blue Jays' Lourdes Gurriel: Did not start Sunday. Gurriel was out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds. The 28-year-old missed one game with hamstring tightness but returned to the lineup Saturday and went 1-for-3 with a strikeout. Gurriel has a .371 OPS through 16 games in May and hasn't hit a home run since April 25. Zack Collins will bat eighth as the designated hitter in Sunday's series finale.

Rangers' Andy Ibáñez: Benched on Sunday. Ibáñez was out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros. Ibáñez is mired in a 2-for-37 slump and will take a seat for the second time in the past three games. Brad Miller was the man at third base in his place while Mitch Garver served as the designated hitter.

Marlins' Jorge Soler: Took seat Sunday. Soler was out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reported. After recently missing two straight games due to lower-back stiffness, Soler returned to the lineup as a designated hitter for the first two games versus Atlanta, going a combined 4-for-9 with a home run, two doubles and three RBI. Garrett Cooper handled DH duties in Sunday's series finale while Soler received some extra maintenance for his back.
