Luis Robert homered and drove in four runs Thursday in a 7-4 win for the White Sox over the Royals.


Robert ripped a two-run homer off of Dylan Coleman to make it 7-4 in the eighth inning. He also tied the game at 4-4 with an RBI single in the sixth, and had another run-scoring knock in the third. Robert is enjoying another strong campaign thus far, and has homered six times, driven in 17 runs and slashed .301/.338/.472.

Astros' Yuli Gurriel took day-off Thursday, Aledmis replaced him. Gurriel didn' start Thursday against the Rangers. Gurriel has logged multi-hit performances in four of the last six games, and he's hit .435 with three homers, two doubles, seven RBI, six runs, and a stolen base during that time. Aledmys Díaz took his place at first base and batted cleanup Thursday. Díaz went 2-for-4, a run, RBI, and a strikeout. His BA is now .226 for the year.

Tony La Russa told reporters after Thursday's win over the Royals that Yoán Moncada is likely to have treatment on his leg.

Moncada, 26, didn't come out of the game on Thursday, but La Russa mentioned that he felt a "tug" in his leg. Scott Merkin of MLB.com notes that the third baseman was moving around fine, but fantasy managers might just want to take a close look before Friday's game.


Royals purchased the contract of OF Dairon Blanco from Triple-A Omaha.


He'll fill the roster spot left vacant by Michael A. Taylor, who has been placed on the COVID-19 injured list. This will be the first taste of MLB action for Blanco. He was slashing .263/.381/.442 with five home runs and a whopping 13 stolen bases through 31 games this season at the Triple-A level.

Mariners optioned LHP Roenis Elias to Triple-A Tacoma.


Elias made just one relief appearance during his short stay on Seattle's active roster.


Yasmani Grandal got the day off Thursday against the Royals.


Reese McGuire was behind the plate and batted eighth versus Kansas City right-hander Carlos Hernández. José Abreu was the designated hitter and batted cleanup, with Gavin Sheets in at first base and hitting sixth.
